Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1/FT1 Review - DPInterface
The Lumix TS1/FT1 is Panasonic's Tough version of a waterproof (10'), shockproof (5'), and dustproof compact camera. It features a Leica 28-128mm f/3.3 lens, 720p HD video, and 12.1 megapixels. There's even a 10fps burst mode. It all adds up durability.
"As of now, the Panasonic Lumix TS1 costs about $50 more than the competing Canon D10 and Olympus Stylus Tough 8000, but it’s the most feature-packed among all the rugged cameras and in my opinion, that extra bit of money justifies the many advantages of the Lumix TS1 has over the competition."

So the new Canon G11 has been announced and people are looking - including me! But I have been carrying the G10 in my pocket for the past year or so and it has gotten to be a habit to grab my keys, wallet, a quarter (gotta have some cash) and the G10. Without it now I don't feel dressed.
Pictures of your dog or cat if done right inspires exclamations of praise and encouragement's to "enter that picture in a contest"!
Digital photography has taken over as the main photographic method today. Ironically, go back just a few short years and most of us were shooting film, buying film, developing film, and getting prints for all out efforts.
